little somethings

yesterday as i was headed into my classroom to get ready to teach, i walked over the bookshelf to pull out some of the students workbooks.  as i pulled the workbooks off the shelf i noticed a sticky-note attached to one of their books.  when i looked closer it looked very similar to my husbands handwriting.  my husband wrote me a note that read this:

"i will betroth you to me forever.  I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and mercy."  hosea 2:19

God has been speaking to me about my worth.  it is easier for me to think about people in need, people who don't have homes, family, are sold into human trafficking and how these people need to hear verses like this.  verses that tell them that even though this life is difficult, there is a man who loves them and wants to sew them to his side to be carried with him forever like a mother carrying her child on her hip while the child rests their head on her shoulder and sleeps.  there is a man who knows their worth and thinks that their worth is of great amounts, enough that he never wants to part from them.  it's easier for me to think about how much these people need to hear this verse than it is for me to let it resinate in me and realize that i am of great worth to God.

please remember this today:  you are of great worth to God.
